Question:
Any reccomendations for restaurants, bars and clubs in or around Bath I can visit in September?

Answer:
Bath is has an odd nightlife, there is more bar culture than clubbing scene. Depending on what you like depends on where you should go.

Personally speaking a great starting point is Lambretta's bar, open plan traditional building near both Bath Spa Train Station and also the bus station so ideal for meeting friends.

This is the only bar this end of town.. you will need to head upwards towards the Abbey keeping to the left and you will find All Bar One, which is now no smoking... carry on heading up avoiding the Saracens Head and if it's a nice day sit outside at the Pig and Fiddle, a traditional pub with a young student clientelle.

If you are looking for slight class?! Then I suggest the Ha Ha Bar along Walcot Street, possibly after there head up the steps opposite and you will hit the main bar area with "The Litten Tree", "Slug and Lettuce" and "RSPV". All much of a muchness and very commercial.

Clubbing-wsie there is little choice, the 3 main clubs are Caddilacs (short skirt wearing 16 yo's), Po Nah Nah which is a classy student haunt (you would have walked by this by Lambrettas) or Moles (a traditional live music venue where Oasis have played!).

All in all, Bath is a bar drinking small city, not an out and out towny clubbing city!

If you need accodomation you cannot go far wrong with the Travelodge.. Above the Slug and Lettuce and across the road from RSVP.. It's cheap and central.

Food wise.. Depends on your scene.. If you want Indian I cannot find better than the "Eastern Eye" on Quiet Street, walk up the stairs and be amazed by the impressive ceilings!

Las Iguanas is brilliant for both atmosphere and Mexican food..

La Tasca for a bit of Spanish salsa music and tapas!

Short of that traditional Bath only restuarants worth considering are:

"Wife of Bath"
"Moon and Sixpence"

Hope this helps!
