Kitty said: Yes.I am upper middle class and white working a temp job at an ice cream shop with m-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(I am upper middle class and white working a temp job at an ice cream shop with m),it will help you,my kids.
Question:
I enjoy it, but I have literally had customers ask me why I work there with people who are younger and either black or hispanic. I explain to them, I just resigned from my position as a retail store manager from a large corporation, and wanted to work a little while completely stress free and enjoy myself.
I am 19, and most of the other workers are still in high school. I get the strangest looks from customers, and it really hurts my feelings.
Do you ever look down upon people who appear over qualified for the job they are working, and if so, why?
Thanks!
Answer:
I don't see why people would care if you are white, hispanic, whatever. That doesn't really make a difference. And 19 is not old at ALL to be woking somewhere as a temp. Don't worry about what people think. After all, with the unemployment rate what it is in this country a lot of people are in jobs below them.
