My wife and I will be in Barcelona and Madrid next week and I want to take her out to a top notch restaurant in both cities. Any suggestions? I did plenty of research but I'm more confused than I was before I started. Help!

If you can get it - try El Bulli (90 miles from Barcelona). I haven't tried it, but I've tried the food of disciples in Chicago (Alinea), I gurantee it will be a lifetime experience. If you haven't planned for the 1 year wait, you might try Comer? 24,which is run by a disciple of Ferran Adria (the chef at El Bulli). Do tell us how it went!
On a more basic level - Cafe Botin in Madrid is where Hemingway hung out. Roast suckling pig there is pretty good.
