I was reading on some site that Mothers Against Drunk Driving want to get the drinking age raised to 25. Is there any legislation being proposed to do so, and if yes, how long will it take for the law to go into effect?

In Europe, where they take a moderate attitude toward drinking, (aside from Germans), they allow kids from thirteen onward to sit in the pubs with their parents having a meal. In France, they mix water with wine into cups and give it to the kids from about fourteen onward.

It is not the cost of alcohol or its availability that causes the problem. Kids start drinking around sixteen, anyway. This problem is caused by social attitudes, what they are taught and what their parents do.
Why not drop the drinking age down to sixteen and cut taxes?
They could stop sellling the 40 oz. sugary addictive junk called coolers at convenience stores. That stuff is bad. Might as well sell moonshine made from rubbing alcohol in your backyard, (sarcastic).
no I really don't think so, however even if they were, it would take a while for it to even go throught, so really I don't think you have anything to worry about

raising the drinking age is not gonna weed out the imature people, theres a learning curve for everything, i actually think it should be lowered, so by the time that u are 21/25 or w/e u already know what ur limits are, u really think that people should start drinking when there in college, thats all those people need is to start drinking when they already have alot on their minds, having hangover after hangover when they have class and jobs that mean alot more than highschool classes, or highschool jobs.
