In the newspaper today it said in Canada its illegal to drink alcholol unless your sitting down. Surely thats not true?

Answer:
No. But to be served in a bar or nightclub, you must have a seat. The maximum seating in a licensed premises must be strictly adhered too. If there are more persons than seats, the police or liquor inspector or fire Marshall can shut the place down for the night and issue a fine. Too many infractions risks the premises license. Doesn't mean everyone has to be seated just that there has to be seats for everyone.
Well it saves them the bother of falling back down.
NOPE GOD I WAS SO DRUNK LAST NIGHT STANDING UP
I heard Canadians drink doing 1 handed hand stands. While
using the feet to cut down trees.
The story started because happy hour in Ontario is stopping happy hours in bars so the news looked up archive rules and regulations in Canada which in the past have included it being illegal to stand up while drinking,

I also found some other interesting !!! drinking laws not only for Canada
In Saskatchewan, Canada, it's illegal to drink alcohol while watching exotic dancers.
The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a recipe for making beer that can be used at home.
Nebraska state law prohibits bars from selling beer unless they are simultaneously brewing a kettle of soup.

The worlds gone crazy or is that the drink talking.
Not that I know of
I don't think that's true, and I live in Texas and no, Encyclopedias are not banned her....we have a whole set!
I don't know what newspaper you were reading but here in Ontario,Canada that is not true.
Used to be the rule yrs. ago but that is long gone.
Oh I could drink a case of you and I would still be on my feet, oh I would still be on my feet.
