I remember Schlitz for 85 cents a sixpack and if you asked the clerk for a "church key" they'd give you a free can opener to pop it with (about 1969). In the 70s we'd cash our paychecks at the liquor store and get a case of Coors for about $4.50 and the pop tops were all the rage. Wasn't unusual to see a cowboy driving down the road with a can of beer on his dashboard.
I trudge through 12 feet of snow 20 miles to the store in 1965 and paid one lousey dime for a can of beer.
i watched an old episode of last of the summer wine(1970s)and a glass cost them 26p i think it was a pint .
