Kitty said: Yes.Funding for american students in the uk?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Funding for american students in the uk?),it will help you,my kids.
My girlfriend is an american studying a masters in english lit at kings college london. she wants to do a phd in the uk next year in english lit, but is finding it hard to get funding like uk students would. also most funding from the usa doesnt count to uk schools. anyone have a suggestion?
Answer:
Did she not consider this before moving to the UK? If she doesn't pay tax, or have UK or European citizenship, then she does not have right to education support. How did she get a student visa or residence permit without proof of studies, and means of support? Something doesn't seem quite right about this. Can you edit your question to add more details?
Yeah, pay for it herself? not being funny but as a foreign citizen it should hardly be expected for the UK taxpayer to cover the cost
If it's 'free' money she is looking for then I think you will find that is hard to obtain. She could look for sponsorship; she will need to figure out why a sponsor would give money and go out and sell that scheme. Other than that it's back to old fashioned borrowing and paying back.
get a job as a teaching asst. or grad. asst. under one of her major professors?
wouldn't be better if you actually put your question in studying abroad rather than putting it in food and drink?
