Answers:
I used to home brew. You have to read up on it to figure out how involved you want to get. There are some cheap beer-making kits out there to get you started, and if you're really into it you can continue to buy equipment and create your own home brewery. One of the most important things to remember is to always use absolutely sterile equipment! The least little bit of the wrong bacteria can screw up an entire batch of beer and it will have to be discarded.
Good luck to you!

Other Answers:
Start with a small kit from one of these till you get the feel for it and are sure you want to invest more time and money.

http://www.thehomebrewstore.com/ It's not nearly as hard as some people make it out to be. I homebrew myself, and I've only had one batch go bad on me (and I know what I did wrong, and won't repeat the mistake).

Best advice I could give would be to get one of the less expensive kits from the places listed in the previous answer, and give it a shot. You'll either really like it, or you won't.
