I want to have a good time, and hit the fun bars, not like an old Irish style ones. Anybody know the good ones (that allow you to drink even if you are from the states) I heard that at some places, you need to be of legal drinking age in your home country. What places allow you to drink, are fun, and are they expensive?

Answer:
In Canada in provinces where the legal age is 18, you can drink even if from out of country. Provinces you can hit are Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta. Since you live below Quebec, I'm assuming you will head there. You will need to provide photo ID though (typically a drivers license) but since you are out of country, two other pieces may be required (health card and social insurance cards are the standard ones here). Just don't come here and drink and drive! Have a DD or take a cab. Quebec cab drivers are nuts, so that could be an experience of itself. I wasn't there long enough to give you any tips on specific bars, but you won't likely find a lot of irish pubs there! Have fun, be safe!

I forgot to mention that the clubs there can be fairly upscale so take a decent shirt (one with a collar, no t-shirts with logos) and a dress pant or at the very least, nice jeans with no rips. Dress to impress!
go down to mexico with a couple guys, doesnt matter where, tijuana, mexico city, cancun, kids can buy beers there, its not regulated. tijuana has really really cheap drinks and u can use american dollars there.
You don't say where in the USA you are going. It's a big country and some laws are different. I recommend New York City!
Anywhere in Mexico is FUN, FUN, FUN!! Try Cabo San Lucas...i went there a year ago and had the time of my life!! And it was cheap too!!
You are not allowed to drink in the states if you are 18! You can if you are in mexico, but not here in the US sorry!
Go to Europe (or anywhere but the US and fundamentalist Islamist countries), and you can drink from the age of sixteen.
No country requires that one must be legal drinking age of another country.

Where is your "there"?
Quebec is the only place in Canada that you can drink at 18, the rest of the country you have to be 19. Hull Quebec rocks, it's across the river from Ottawa, or downtown Montreal definitely!
