I just recently got into beer and I usually only drink Bud Light or Miller Lite. My friends make fun of me for choosing the cheapest of the cheap when it comes to beer. So okay what is a very good light beer that is not cheap like Bud or Miller but has that similar taste?

If you are going for light for low carb dieting, I always drink "Milwaukee's Best Light". It has less carbs than Mich Ultra, and cost half as much. It is pleasantly mild (American beer-go figure....). Served in a glass, i is equal to other domestics.
I like Bud Light regardless of the price. I get a bigger buzz than from some non-light beers. But maybe you can try, Coor's Light or hey, Corona has a light beer as well!

Ok, first of all... Michelob Ultra is widely regarded as one of the single worst beers ever produced. If you are looking for something that tastes like Bud or Miller, then paying for something that isn't cheap is a waste of money. If it tastes like Bud then save your money and buy Bud.
That said, you really ought to check out some better beer. Try some stouts, ipa's, porters, belgians, barleywines, etc. Maybe start with something milder like a bock, pale ale, pilsner, marzen, or brown ale. Each style is unique and has something wonderful to offer.
I would recommend visiting a local brewpub. Just about every city has one these days. Typically, they will sell you a sampler of 5-12 beers in 3 or 4 oz glasses for around $6-10. It's a lot of fun to get one of these and split it with a friend. Then pick your favorite and have a pint with dinner.
I don't know why everyone has their own favorite light beer. Most blind tastings show that people can't even tell light beers apart--even their favorites.
amstel light, remember light beer has less alcohol. so too really get a good beer buzz you should drink full strength beer it wont make you any fatter

dont drink somthing just because your friends say you should drink it. experiment around buy a pack of somthing and try it if you dont like it then try somthing else. myself i will stick with my friend bud.
