I was offered a job at Best Buy by the GM as a cashier.

Many employers of busineses like that work their PT employees 3-4 days, 8 hrs a day. Just enough to be under the FT range. So it wouldn%26#039;t be unreasonable for you to work between 24-32 hours a week.
As for becoming FT, well you%26#039;ll get a better understanding of that when you start work and ask coworkers how long they%26#039;ve been PT and if they%26#039;ve tried for FT.
When you ask this stuff, don%26#039;t stir up trouble or start anything, you could be out the door quickly. Like don%26#039;t say %26quot;you gotta be kidding me, that long!? heck no I%26#039;m not waiting that long, I want it now.....etc%26quot;. Just be causual about it.
Most places like that want the most time out of their PT employees with least expeditures going out ie: not paying medical insurance, OT, vacation pay, etc...
