Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(What is the best, or better, slow cooker AKA crockpot to use for a small family?),it will help you,my kids.
I'm looking for a gift for a young small family
Answers:
I have 3 crock pots. For a small family the round one (4-6 qt?) is probably fine. Look for one with a removable crock for easy cleaning and storing. Also, make sure it has a well fitting plastic lid. I had some major issues with my oval pot because the glass lid was warped, not making a good seal, and my food would dry out. I got a new one and it was exactly the same! I have to cover my pot with plastic wrap before putting the lid on.
Other Answers:
Sorry to say they are almost all made in China now, and are pretty cheap. I am not sure one is better than another, but's it's a nice gift idea anyway. I have an oval Rival crock pot - stainless steel, and it works fine.
Give them a good crockpot !! They are very handy if you know how to use one....but be careful, they might already have one...
I have a small Rival crockpot. It has a ceramic bowl that fits all the way into the heater and can be removed to place in the fridge. I got it as a wedding gift and I love it. I think it probably cost $40-60.
No, no it's $25 and worth every penny! Check it out here:

It's the 4qt stainless steel one.
I have the large Rival crock pot for 20yrs now and it is the best they will love it.
Seems like everyone has Rival. If you know any other brands, try to choosing any brands that match thier decorations. All slow cooker works the same way.
I own 4 slow cookers. I like the Versaware the best. You can brown something on the stove and then put it in the base for slow cooking. It's more expensive but I think it's worth it. If you want something less expensive go with one with a removable crock for ease of cleaning.
