Nothing, crock pot is a brand name.

nothing...crockpot is a registered trademark of the Rival company, therefore only Rival can call their slow cookers 'crockpots' They're the same thing.

Differant Name

They are the same thing. The maker Rival has a slow cooker which is named "Crockpot" any other manufacturers of slowcookers cannot use the name "crockpot"

not much its just like the word xerox ...the company s name is better known than its purpose...

They are one and the same

Actually they now have crockpots that automatically turn themselves down to a lower temp to prevent over-cooking. They also have ones that have temp controls like 350 degrees, instead of low/high.

they are the same thing Crock pot is the brand name of Rival's slow cooker. It was probably the first big name and therefore became the generic phrase. Although, I do believe there are slow cookers that aren't necessarily crockpots.

same thing
