    What is the difference between a sandwich and a butty?

Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days,anyone help us?

In the UK, a butty usually only consists of a buttered bread roll with one filling such as in a
- bacon butty
- chip butty (with British French fries)

A sandwich on the other hand consists of more than one filling. Even if it's just a bacon sandwich, you would still find some minimal lettuce with it.

A sandwich would be eaten around lunch-time, but a bacon butty is more of a snacky thing and can be eaten also for breakfast or as an after-pub coming-home snack.
