Answer:
I use apple cider vinegar when I don't want strong acid flavor.

Good for a potato salad. Toss some bacon in as well.
apple cider vinegar is milder and white vinegar is harsh, try to use white vinegar for poaching eggs or making gardinera, and apple cider for dressings or a deglaze for pork chops, etc
Gran-ma used white vinegar for cleaning,
and Apple Cider Vinegar for cooking
