every other time i get frends to take me. and we dont have a Designated driver system, just none of us drive really. we would call a cab or a frend to get us. but like tomorow night ill drive to the place and if i get trashed (most likely) i want to make sure that i dont have uncontrollable knowledge that i have a car. i do not want to drunk drive and please dont give me answers like- get a DD, dont drink and drive, dont get trashe.d thanks for your help

In college, I got trashed many times. Before I went out, I always told myself, "Once I start drinking, I won't drive until tomorrow, regardless of how much I drink. Period. No exceptions." If you go by that, you'll never get in trouble. I've called a cab, crashed at the party, slept in the car, walked home, hitched a ride, one time I walked home and my car got towed. Next day I paid $150 to get it back. But it was cheaper than a DUI, and definitely better than getting killed. If you make a zero tolerance pledge with yourself drinking and driving, you'll never have to worry about it. Worked for me.

Here's a novel idea...take a designated driver with you that KNOWS from the start they are going to HAVE to stay SOBER!
Why don't you arrange to take a cab back and forth. Most drunks do not realize how impaired they are when they get behind a wheel.

You're basically telling US, you're going to get trashed and your going to drive and you want our blessing. Go for it. Go to the local pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens,etc)...buy a pocket breathalizer. They're about $20. When you leave the bar, blow into it. It will tell you your blood alcohol level. Then you'll know if it's ok to drive.
