Dark beer tastes better and usually has a higher volume of alcohol... however its pretty thick, and its pretty filling when you start slamming them down.
Light beer is less filling, which is great because you can keep drinking them... but it has less alcohol. The fight between light beers these days is that they strive NOT to taste like a light beer... (less filling, taste great!)
