Answer:
Right now, one of the top Sauv Blancs is Kim Crawford from 2006. It was on Wine Spectator's top 100 list for last year and is fairly widely available. My local Costco and target shops both carry it for under $15.

Its slightly dry and quite citrusy with a nice finish. It goes well on a warm day or with a nice mellow Asian dish. It even goes well with artisan cheeses. I bought a case of it to enjoy this summer.

I STRONGLY recommend this wine to EVERYONE who wants a nice easy going white that's not sweet. Something that you can sit and sip or pair with a meal to compliment it.

Not Cloudy Bay, not Cakebread, not any of those overpriced crappers.

I've been known to down some Voss, Honig, and I keep a couple cases of one called Casa Julia. It's from a small distributor in NY, called T. Edwards, I know they sell to retail stores in NJ & NY - if you can get it, get it's like 8 bucks a bottle and it is good.
St. Supery in Napa makes a great Sauvignon Blanc that is readily available. There are lots of great Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, including Kim Crawford. You can't go wrong with either of these.
Try the Australian wines but you should know sauvignon blanc is a type of grape. US marketer have use the grape names instead of actually using the names of the wine. So, I assume what you really want is a white Bordeaux. Try some white Australian wine; for the price they cannot be beat. Yellowtail is good, Lindeman's is good, so is Black Opan and

I love Tyrrell's

New Zealand and South African wines are also excellent and priced far better than California wine plus they taste better.

Konocti vineyards in California used to make some great
white wines.

For inexpensive table wine nothing nothing beats Keller-Geister from Gemany and it is slightly sparkling too.

If you want to spend a few bucks try Orvieto white burgundy.
I drink a box of wine every night, i'm gonna have to say "Great Value White grape liquor"
I like Chalk Hill.
I don't know about "best", that is relative, but I have been liking Nobilo Sauvingnon Blanc. I'm pretty sure it is from New Zealand.
It is very "buttery" to me, good mouthfeel, kind of sexy actually.
Australian and New Zealand wines are amongst the best white wines in the world. Lindemans is good. Bortolli is good too.
in the US i like Silverado Vineyars and Honig Vineyards from Napa Valley. From New Zealand I like Cloudy Bay, Oyster Bay and Isabel Estate. All in the mid-teens price category. Like 15 - 18 per bottle.
Santa Maria sauvignon blanc from chile is a very good selection
