help me with.. im so curious
Answer:
For any given volume, a cylinder will have less surface area than a rectangular prism. Less material needed, therefore production costs are less.
They're also easier to hold.
so you can use a spatula to scoop out all the food or liquid still left in the can. it would just make it harder to scoop it out of a square. plus, it's cheaper to make a cylindrical can versus a cubical can.
For strength.
Not all cans are round however. Sardine cans are sort of square, so the fish fit better. Likewise kipper tins and etc. Things in large cans, like lard, cooking oil, honey, etc often come in square cans up to 5 gallon size. Ammunition comes in square cans.
round cans are cheaper and easier to make and they are also stronger.
NOT ALL CANS ARE ROUND..
haven't you seen them new can bottles.they are cans in the shape of bottles budwieser makes them
to fit in the car cup holders.
i assume since you posted in drinks you mean beer cans and the answer is if the were not round they wouldnt fit in my coozie.
how long has this bothered you?
Anybody else remember the Log Cabin Syrup cans that were shaped like a cabin?
