Answer:
Because they are made of mint silly. Mint contains natural forms of menthol which is a topical drug, a numbing agent actually. it slighty numb the surface of your tongue and other areas it is applied to, like when a limb falls asleep. But because it is only slightly and because the tongue is very sensitive and the nerves are so dense you get a cold feeling instead of a sharp tingle. The chemistry is a little more complex than that but it woul take a lot of words that don't really mean anything to tell you. Did that help?
