Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days, anyone help us?
Kitty said: Yes.Why can't pop cans be refunded for like beer cans?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Why can't pop cans be refunded for like beer cans?),it will help you,my kids.
We have seen better way of recycling beer cans but not pop cans .Is there a way to look in doing that so that consumers can be driven to consume more pop like drinks instead of alchol contained drinks?
Answer:
You CAN refund pop cans and bottles. At least in Iowa you can, I think Texas too. They're only like 5 cents a piece but yeah. You'd have to ask at the place that you give beer cans too. They should know.
It all depends on where you live. You can take them some places and get money for them.
They are in Ny... I guess it depends on if your state is consciencious about the earths problems.LL
Your question doesn't make sense.
Soda cans can be recycled just like beer cans.
man! lots of people are cheap now
both pop cans and beer cans be recycled the same way.
They can be, in certain areas.
um...some states do recycle their SODA can's.... but others dont want to waste the money to do it... I know nothing about recycling beer cans... because I dont drink... and I dont intend to... I think it all together depends on where you live...
Well, the problem with that is...people don't buy pop or alcohol based on how much they get back for the can.
Most places DO allow you to recycle beer, pop or any other aluminum can. In my area, you can take bags of cans to the recycling center, but you can't turn in individual cans of anything for a nickel a piece.
call your legislator to change laws . in Maine they have 5 cent deposit on everything , including ketchup bottles ,soda , water bottles , pickle jars , etc . good for environment , good for homeless pickers .
I am not sure which country or state or whatever you are posing this question from, but the fact of the matter is that can have almost a 100% yield of recyclablity. Beer and many malt beverages are served in cans world wide, and frankly I don't see how one can make the market stop drinking alcohol on the container alone.
You appear to be North American.
As far as I know, every Canadian province with perhaps one exception (Mann.), and every American state with a bottle deposit law, charges and refunds consumer deposits on pop cans as well as beer cans.
You can return any plastic, can, or glass container in which it contained a carbonated beverage, ie. pop, spritzer, beer in NYS. Just not non carbonated items, ie. iced tea, oj etc.
In Iowa pop cans "can" be returned for the 5-cent tax that you pay when you buy them. Same holds true for alcoholic beverages.
As much as you may not want to hear this, I do not think that people who drink alcohol will be encouraged to drink pop due to recycling/refunds.
It is cool of you to care. Maybe you could start something at your school or have a friend initiate a drive to re-cycle and donate the $ to Al-Anon or AA.
Good luck!
well here in cali , Inland Empire you can 1.95 a lb.
I live in Michigan and I can't understand states which do not have beverage deposits. Much less one that would have the distinction drawn between alcoholic containers and non.
Currently the law in Michigan is 10 cent deposit on any carbonated beverage container. But legislation keeps being discussed about widening it to any plastic container, perhaps glass as well. Or at least putting a 5 cent deposit on non-carbonated ones. At large music festivals "can-kids" will go around and ask to collect empties from adults. As a kid I used to make about $100 over 3 days at a local annual festival.
