almost always, the morning after, my voice is at least an octive lower. is there a reason why? vocal cords are loosed up? throat cancer? a sign to not drink anymore? thanks.

Answer:
When you drink alcohol (beer or whatever), and you've consumed a little more than you should, when you go to sleep, you're actually in sort of a light coma. There's not much normal brain activity (like dreaming), and your muscles become very relaxed. That would include the muscles in and around your throat and vocal cords.

A relaxed muscle vibrates at a lower frequency; therefore, your voice is a bit deeper in pitch when you first wake up. Actually, it's like that every morning, whether you've been partying or not. But when you wake up after a night of boozing, the effect is more pronounced.
All things will get lower if you drink enough beer.
I think because you tend to shout when you are drunk.
Most likely because you were talking more (and possibly louder) than you usually do..drinking will do that to ya!
So, the next morning, your voice seems lower due to strain...
Add to it that most people have a "froggy" sounding throat in the mornings anyway...
If it bothers you...stop it! LOL!
My friend Drina says it is easier to get laid when you lower your voice. She says guys can pick up easier on the fact that she is drunk when her voice is lower and her panties are on the bar.
That's a new one.
