Try this: They get hot, but don't cook. Use garlic bread, lot's of butter, and soak tomatoes in red wine venegar. Slice and put on bread add some olive oil, cover with provolone. put oven on broil and heat until cheese melts.

my mom used to eat them on white bread sliced and with mayo but i like the greek or italion ideas with cheese and balsamic or wine vinegar and olives and good things like that and olive oil

To start with, grow your own. The backyard tomato is light-years better than any store bought, or even farmer's market
variety. I don't know why, just is. I like to make a little cold, vinagrette concoction, with 1 part wine vinegar, 2 parts water, 1 packet of spicy apple cider instant mix, sliced cucumbers, sliced red onions, pinch of basil, and sliced or diced fresh tomatoes(homegrown), and sliced and peeled apple wedges. Throw this together in a medium-size bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight.
It's kinda like a renewable resource as you can keep adding and subtracting ingredients and keep this "marinade" going for weeks at a time. Good luck. --->UCSteve
