Any kitchen tricks that help you save time or improve a task?
Answers:
It is getting easier and easier to save time in the kitchen with all of the new gadgets. Two of my favorites (that actually work great) are the RonCo. Rotisserie and a countertop panini maker (which does a lot more than just grill paninis). They were both worth the price I paid.
The rotisserie basket works great for salmon, burgers and vegetables. Without the basket I have used the rotisserie to make cornish game hens, whole chickens and small hams. Everything is so juicy and other than loading/unloading and adding spices there is no prep!

Do your prep the day before.
I love my kitchen scissors. I use them to snip green onions, shred lunch meat. It's a lot easier than getting out the cutting board and knife. I love buying precut vegetables and using them for cooking - greatly cuts down on my prep time.
Plan ahead..choose your meals for the week, go to the grocery store buy what you need then prepare it the night before, it saves money since you already bought waht you needed for the week. It works well for my luches and if im not home in time to start dinner, the husband can thow it in.
Just knowing how to malty task in the kitchen is great. Making sure you meat is thawed before you start cooking is a big time saver. Stir Fry's are fast and easy - you can cut veggies and throw them in the wok as you go or pasta is fast with some 25 minute baked or broiled cut up chicken. Microwaves are fast but the food taste dry and over cooked - I cook a potato for half the time and then throw it in the oven for another 20 min. If you have a knack for cooking you can get it done fast and it will taste great too.I have a jar in my fridge with garlic, onions, oregano, pepper, salt, vinegar, bit of oil that I had previously blended. Just add a spoonful of that to anything that you're making, and tada!!! good food coming your way. Easy, eat microwave meals! No, seriously, you can pre-make meals and freeze them. Then all you have to do is nuke them.
I use salt and pepper on chicken and steam on top of rice.
