My friend is coming to dinner who has several allergies. She cannot eat Wheat, Sugar or Dairy. What can I make her for dinner? Im thinking of grilling some steaks & vegies brushed with olive oil/garlic, but I also want another side and a dessert.
Any ideas?

Try making rice with some herbs in it. For dessert try a fresh fruit platter served with soy, sugar free yogurt.

i'd ask friend fer ideas.....and maybe even recipes...... an say i jus wanna make sure u stay healthy steaks would do fine... For dessert, why not try a simple flambe?? it can be done w/out sugar as it has suffecient sugar count in the raising flour i use(President)
Salad with an oil and vinegar dressing and maybe some grilled shrimp to go with!
desserts are tricky without sugar, but try something simple with fresh fruit!How about baked potatos w/ all the toppings? You can let ppl choose their own toppings at hte table. Make sure butter is room temp. :) Be sure to offer margarine for her, and put cheese and sour cream on the side.
For dessert, I'd do a fresh fruit salad, w/ splenda-sweetened whipped cream on the side.
I think it's OK if you serve garlic bread w/ the meal, or whatever, adn she chooses not to eat it. The rest of those dining should not have to conform to her medical and self-imposed dietary restrictions.
BTW: You cannot be allergic to sugar. She may be sugar-senstive, diabetic, or avoiding sugar, but you can only physically be allergic to proteins, not carbohydrates. I'd advise that you talk to her and let her know what you are planning to cook. She can then give you some pointers if there is a problem.
Steak is a good plan.
You could serve it with rice, boiled potatoes, salad and other vegetables.
For dessert, a fresh fruit salad or sorbet may go down well. You could also look in supermarkets at their 'free from' ranges and buy a dessert in.
