I just need the basics. All my family is allergic, but I'm not and I love it. Have no idea how to cook it though and they don't know either 'cause they never cook it. Thanks anyone.

I was in the same place in that none of my family, when growing up, liked shellfish of any kind. It was a very small community and we didn't have access to seafood much, not even in restaurants, so I had to learn on my own as well. Good luck!

saute garlic and onion, followed by the shimp, add tomatoe sauce and a littel 7 up or sprite. simmer for 15min and ur ready to ramble..

I'm allergic too.but you can cook it by boiling,deep frying...even grilling...mix in whatever spices u want and cook.
not very helpful....but what can u expect from another shrimp allergic person :)


Just buy it already cooked, and defrost it if it's frozen.

My laziness Shrimp Scampi


1 1/2 pound jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 cup dry white vermouth
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 teaspoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest

Put the shrimp on a large pie pan or plate and pat them completely dry with a paper towel. Arrange the shrimp so they lay flat and are evenly spaced.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Add the butter to the skillet. When the foaming subsides, raise the heat to high, and invert the plate of shrimp over the pan so the shrimp fall into the pan all at once. Cook the shrimp, without moving them, for 1 minute. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Turn the shrimp over and cook for 2 minutes more. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl.
Return the skillet to the heat and pour in the vermouth and lemon juice. Boil the liquid until slightly thickened, about 30 seconds. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Stir the zest and parsley into the sauce. Pour the sauce over the shrimp, season with salt and pepper to taste and toss to combine.
Divide the shrimp among 4 plates or arrange on a platter and serve.

Easiest recipe is to buy fresh shrimps, blanch in boiing water .Use soy sauce +garlic as dippings. Yummy !

a lot of way to re pare shrimp ,but never over cook shrimp. they become rubbery. always cook with high heat to keep the juice and flavor inside.Keep shell on if you boiling for shrimp cocktail or shrimp salad. Marinated with some olive oil lemon juice just before to grill.You can use any favorite herd and season you like but always use quick technique of cooking like saute, grilling, boilling... avoid baking and stew. QUICK AND EASY CHICKEN-SHRIMP TERIYAKI

1/4 lb. med. shrimp, shelled
1 1/2 c. cooked chicken pieces (equals the meat of approximately 2 breasts)
1 sm. can mushrooms, drained or 1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
1/3 c. bottled teriyaki sauce
1/4 c. white or rose wine
Black pepper, to taste

In a medium non-stick skillet heat teriyaki sauce and wine on medium heat until liquid begins to bubble. Add raw shrimp, chicken and mushrooms, stirring quickly until shrimp are pink on all sides. Sprinkle with pepper and continue stirring another few minutes, to be sure chicken pieces are heated through. Serve over cooked rice or noodles. Recipe can be multiplied by as many people.
Serves 1.


1. Heat your grill to medium heat and use A sprig or rosemary as a holder and put shrimp on it and grill will a bit of oil. Could also Grill with bbq sauce on it.

2. Saute in a little oil and garlic with or without tomato sauce. boil pasta and toss in with shrimp and mix it through.

3. Boil shrimp till cooked 2-3 minutes. if its pink its cooked. then put in ice water to make cold and make cocktail sauce (ketchup and horseradish) and make a shrimp cocktail.
