Answers:
I don't think that I'd use frozen ones. I'd just buy a large onion and slice it up into rings. Mix your favorite beer with flour and salt and pepper. Don't make the better too runny or it won't stick to your onions. Heat up your oil and drop a few rings in at a time. Cook them until they're golden brown. The batter usually puffs up a little, so don't put too many together or you'll get a big glob of dough and onions.

Other Answers:
honestly, I don't know if you can. If you know how to make them with homemade onion rings it's worth a try though. If it doesn't turn out well just don't eat them.
The choice I would recommend would be to look in the fresh produce section and get whole fresh ones. I like the sweet georgia ones the best.
you can't cuase you would have to thaw the store ones and they would fall apart if you tried while they were frozen the outside would burn and the inside would still be cold or frozen
Onion Rings
1 1/4cups all-purpose flour
1cup beer
Oil for deep frying
2small yellow onions, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices, separated into rings
1teaspoon salt

In large bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour and beer; mix with wire whisk until smooth. Cover; refrigerate 30 minutes.

Heat oil in deep fryer, large heavy saucepan or Dutch oven to 375°F. Place remaining 1/4 cup flour in shallow dish. When ready to fry, coat each onion ring with flour. Dip each ring in batter, coating entire surface; allow excess batter to drip off into bowl. Carefully drop each onion ring into hot oil. Fry in small batches for 2 minutes, turning once. With slotted spoon or tongs, remove onion rings from oil; place on wire rack over paper towels to drain. While hot, sprinkle onion rings with salt. Repeat with remaining rings. (If desired, place onion rings on cookie sheet in 200°F. oven to keep warm.)

I wouldn't recommend the frozen ones.. they have a batter already and it wouldn't taste well with the batter.. Get you some sweet vidala onions and a package of the beer batter mix at your super market...
Make your beer batter and re dip the onion rings and deep fry them but, the coating that is already on them is enough.
