Answers:
One of the simplest methods is to store brown sugar in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer. Allow brown sugar to come up to room temperature for about 15 minutes before using.
If your brown sugar is already hard, place the sugar in a microwave-safe container in the microwave oven. Place a cup of water next to it. Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Use immediately.
Other Answers:
get a ceramic disc from wal mart that you place in the sugar not expensive and it works great
airtight container works great. also you can put a slice of apple in the bag. that works really well.
well if you'd stop fondling it and keep your top on it wouldn't get hard
store it at room temperature in a sealed container
tye the bag with a twistie tye and put it in a cubord and it won't get hard.
Put a soda cracker in it. Old idea that's tried and true
role up the part of the bag that has no brown sugar in it then clip a close pin on that part
Definitely store brown sugar you plan to use in an air-tight container but if it gets dry before you get it used you can buy a stone that you soak in water that releases moisture into the container very slowly (so the sugar won't dissolve). If you are storing for long term put the air-tight container into the freezer.
place a piece of bread in the container with it you will have to change the bread every so when it becomes hard that is how I store my brown sugar the bread soaks up the excess moisture in the sugar

My mom puts her brown sugar in a big ziplock bag. She puts it in the cabinet with the other spices, flour, etc. It seems to not get hard...
An airtight container and add in a slice of bread.
I put a piece of bread int the container for both of my sugars.
Store in airtight container, place a slice of apple with sugar. Simple but works.
I buy my brown sugar in one of those resealable bag then once I open it I put slice bread in it, you can also use a small slice of apple but you have to change it once a week but with the bread you just change it every few weeks and reseal the bag then put the bag in an airtight canister or Tupperware and put it in a cabinet or somewhere that's room temperature and it will keep your brown sugar soft.
