Kitty said: Yes.How do I thin split pea soup?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(How do I thin split pea soup?),it will help you,my kids.
Answers:
If your going to serve it right away, add a heaping spoonful of sour cream to each bowl, and stir slightly. (so it still looks swirly...)
Yum!
Other Answers:
Add some chicken or veggie stock to it.
water is ok too to add
use a blender
Add chicken stock, vegetable stock or milk or cream until it is the consistancy you want.
I used low fat condensed milk.
slowly add skim milk and don't let it get to a roaring boil just a simmer will do.
Boil a piece of ham hock in water to remove the salt. Then boil it again in chicken or vegetable broth.Next, add the broth to the soup stirring the whole time until you reach the desired consistency.Freeze the ham hock for greens later.
as others have already said, adding water or chicken stock will make it "thinner", but that will also dilute & change the flavour. why do you want to make it runnier? a good pea soup should be thick and chewey, your spoon should stand up in it!
