I want the sauce that Pastrami meat is soaked in. They don't have Pastrami sandwiches here in the st Lois area, and when I lived in Los Angeles, I ate them frequently. I can buy Pastrami meat at a deli here, but I want to know how the sauce or juice for it is made, so I can make my own Pastrami sandwiches.

It's thousand island dressing. I worked at Cracker barrell and thtat's what they used. Maybe some restaraunts mix their own, but tell your friend it tastes great.

try mixing tarter sauce w/ french dressing,REUBEN
Kewlkat is wrong, and your restaurant is wrong. A Reuben has to be made with Russian dressing. (Basically a mix of ketchup, mayonnaise, and green relish.)
I have been eating Ruebens for 35 years and From German and Irish decent and our families always used thousand Island Dressing- Russian Dressing is pretty much the same but Now I use mustard instead anyway, you can make your own but heck for a buck you can buy a bottle and make Big Mac's too!
You know if you work in a restaurant someone is probably joking with you...... "Special Sauce" commonly means.... sperm. I'm not kidding.
