I cut the asparagus into 3 or 4 sections each, stir fried with minced garlic and chilli with prawns, add some worcestershire sauce according to taste.

My favorite is to roast it. Break off the tough ends and discard. Wash and cut stalks into thirds. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl put a tablespoon of olive oil dump in asparagus scatter a teaspoon of garlic salt and stir around well. Scatter in a single layer on a pizza pan. Put in center of oven for ten minutes stirring around once. Serve at once.
Put a tiny bit of water in a pot. Throw in the asparagus. Bring to a boil, with lid on. Boil until tender. Do not overcook--asparagus tastes best (and is healthiest) when it's still bright green and retains some of its crispiness.
You can cook it on the stove or in the microwave. On the stove cover with water and cook in simmering water for 2 minutes. When bright green drain water and cover in ice water for a few seconds (this is called blanching and will keep the asparagus green). In the microwave put in a dish with a little water and microwave for a minute or so.
Serve with a little butter, salt and pepper.
Brush with olive oil, salt, pepper (I prefer course ground) put on the grill medium heat. Cook it for like 3 minutes and turn and another 3 minutes.
you can cook it just about any way. mix in stir fry or boil it until it's tender and serve with hollandaise sauce or u can try my favorite which is roasted. all u have to do is preheat oven to 425 and spread asparagus out on a baking sheet drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice add 1tblsp of lemon zest and salt and pepper. roast about 15-20 minutes. remove from heat and add more lemon juice
1) simply grill/bake w/garlic salt, top it off w/some shredded cheese. squeeze some lemon juice over.
2) cut them up into pieces (slunts), stir fry chinese style w/chopped garlic, shrimps & dash of oyster sauce/ground bean sauce..yummylicious!!
3) use some butter, & pan fry asparagus on med. pan, dash in some pepper & salt.
whatever u do, don't overcook them. like them crunchy !!
Space them out on a cookie sheet and brush them with a little olive oil and then sprinkle them with salt and sesame seeds. Bake them in a 350 oven for about 5-10 minutes or until desired tenderness.
blanche them, sprinkle olive oil, and almonds.
