Answers:
You must put it extremely hot water.Do not use frozen okra it will cool the water and then turn slimmy. The water must be boiling hot with a lid on it for at least five min before you put it in. Do not rinse okra until you are ready to put it in the water an drain using a colonder. So the water drains out into the sink. You do not have to do any thing else just dont over cook it will turn stringy.

Other Answers:
It's better fried, or used in gumbo.

Fooody!!
You should, press on the okra with a paper towel, till a lot of the water inside seeps out. then boil it, less moisture, means less slimy.
slice it first
Leave it uncovered and do not put much salt in it.
A couple bowls of "snotty" okra cured me of boiling it.

I love okra fried or in soups and that is it.
I can't stand it boiled. I coat it with corn meal and a little flour and fry it.
bye squeezing drops of lemon in the boiling water
put it in less water or frie it
i don't boil, i stir fry for couple min. & microwave for another 3-4 min. not until soft & soggy, coz tt's when it gets real slimy..yucks !! leave it aside, & only put it at the final stage of cooking when it's bout done.
Don't buy frozen, use fresh and don't boil it, use it in a recipe or fry it. Good Luck!
dont boil it
