You can just saute it in a frying pan with a little butter or oil on low-med heat. Put a top on it to make it go faster. Keep an eye on it and stir often.
I like to use butter to saute it with some currants and pine nuts then throw on a little cumin.

You start by putting water in a pot, bring it to a boil,and some seasonings (of your choice) insert your spinich leave it until it cooks down and then serve.

I don′t have a steamer as well, what i do i boil the water first then i put in the spinach and i check it when i see its boiled i take it out immediately so it doesnt over cook.=) I don't eat spinach, but I do know that it really cooks down so you need a lot just to make a little. Try going to foodnetwork.com I've even seen it deepfried on the Food Network ?!!!
My favorite way to cook spinach (and it's so easy!) is to boil a teakettle of water, and pour it over the spinach leaves in a colander in the sink. This wilts the leaves and they stay bright green without any of that funky metallic taste. You can top with chopped hard-boiled egg or a light white sauce, or just a dash of sea salt, and serve immediately while still warm.
The trick is to not overcook spinach - that's what brings out the iron (hence the metallic flavor) and makes it all slimy and unappealing.
I use butter and saute it. Usually ends up in stir fry.
