I have a smoothie recipe that requires a frozen banana... tried to freeze it last night with the peel on... wasn't so easy to de-peel later. Anyone have suggestions on a better way to freeze one? Thank you in advance!
Answers:
Peel it. Slice it longitudinally and dip each piece in water and then freeze it. The water film will prevent the darkening of the peeled banana
Other Answers:
Next to the chocolate.
Take the peel off before you put it in the freezer.
Use liquid nitrogen.
Works every time!
Maybe take the peel off - put it in a bowl - put it in the freezer?
Sounds like it would work.
try freezing the banana with out the peel overnight. should be yummy. i love smoothies
peel it first, or just use a fresh one in the smoothie
Could you cut it up and mash it into a paste before freezing? Itll be the same as when you put it in the blender anyways right?
Well, I just finished inhaling a chocolate covered frozen banana. I would eat the chocolate off of it and blend up the banana. But that's just me.
just peel it, stick it in a plastic container or tupperware and freeze it
btw: frozen banana and melted chocolate tastes pretty good!
If you want to use the banana while it's frozen, then you have to peel it before you freeze it. I freeze bananas with the peel on and then thaw them later to use for banana bread and things like that. Being frozen with the peel on will make the peels turn black when they thaw and the banana will be mushy like it's over-ripe, which is how you want it for bread and cookies and such.
put it in the freezer
YES
I've been freezing bananas for a while now.. All I do is peel them and dump them in a bag. They don't stick together, you can break them up in the bag after they are frozen (for easy dumping in the blender!) and they've never turned brown unless I forget about them for far, far too long.
YOU'RE KILLING ME LARRY!!!!!!
You froze it correctly! You just need to let it thaw out for a few minutes and the peels will come off easily!
Peel it . . . slice it . . . stick it in a ziplock baggie, and put it in the freezer.
Or you could just point a gun at it and say, "Hey, you! Banana! Freeze!" But the first way is more effective.
Peel it before you freeze it and then put it in a plastic bag or something
Peel it first, then put it in a freezer type zipper bag. That's how I freeze my bananas for banana bread & other recipes.
You unpeel the banana first, slice it, wrap it seran wrap and then put it in the freezer... when its frozen take it out of the freezer and but it in the blender with your smoothie...
