Answers:
Spraying the inside of a Tupperware? Container with Pam or olive oil prior to putting any red sauce into the bowl will enhance the flavor of all recipes and protect the bowl from the bright orange stain, but will leave a little yellow tinge.
Removing stain is quite another story..... depends how long the stain was there. If caught right away, try using a little baking soda- lemon juice paste, let sit in the sun for a day, and usually the sun will help bleach out the stain!
Never use bleach!!! It tends to leave a residue in the bowl (seeps into the pores) and then enters into the food.... and then when micro-waved, definitely leaves bleach fumes in your food. Not recommended
Baking Soda Paste: Use a baking soda paste (baking soda and water) and rub into the stain. You
can then rinse with vinegar (optional) and wash normally.
Sun: Place container outside on a nice sunny day and the sun actually bleaches the stain out.
Bleach: Please note that this is not the first option to try but one to use if the stain is really persistent and you've tried the other methods.
a) Make a strong solution of dishwasher detergent (which usually contains bleach) and water (1/4 cup detergent to 1 cup warm water) and let it set on stain.
b) Alternatively, add bit of bleach to water and let it set on the stain. If it doesn't work, make it a little stronger and repeat. Then wash the container normally prior to use.
(NOTE: This is NOT to be used for Microwave used containers, because the bleach stays in the pores and can fume into your food when micro waving.)
Other Answers:
Heloise (as in Hints from Heloise) recommends sitting it out in the sun. Apparently, the sun will bleach it.
Soak bleach water in it, you can even microwave it with the solution for a few mins.
take dishwasher powder and add water to make a paste. spread it on the stained areas and let it sit for a couple hours. rinse off and it should be better.
i would like to know that myself!
soak it in bleach
soft scrub with bleach
buy new ones
i don't know, I didn't think you could get them out I just throw mine away
try soaking in vinger and hot water.
Unfortunatly, you don't.
You can't..before you put tomato based sauces in plastic always lightly coat the pan or container with oil..this will prevent a stain..:)
Bleach water
Dawn dishsoap works well.
