Answers:
get a container and pour water (full). put the egg inside. if the egg floats it means its not good anymore. if it sinks then its still good.
Other Answers:
when you open them and they smell bad there no longer good
They stink!
I have always heard that you should put an egg in a bowl of water and if it floats to the top it is bad.
Put them in water. If they float, they are no longer good. This is the method I have always used--taught to me by my mother and grandmother--and have read it several times in various cookbooks.
Float them. An egg has a small air pocket in one end. As the egg gets older the air pocket grows in size. If the egg is so old that it floats, you're better off getting fresh eggs. One thing, however, hard boiled "old" eggs are easier to peel. The egg websites advise that eggs should be stored in their original container (not in the egg-storage thingy in the door) in the coldest/bottom part of the fridge. Eggs stored this way are safe up to two weeks past the "sell by" date printed on the carton

Just stuff I've picked up over the years. Good luck!
