I make mine in the crockpot. I get a package of red beans, rinse and drain them, then add them with a lot of water to the crockpot (about 2-3 times as much water as there are beans) and let them simmer on low most of the day. For seasoning, I throw in a package of Zaterain's crab and shrimp boil (in the spice aisle) and some Cajun seasoning if they're not hot enough for you. I like mine with ham and sausage.
