Homemade Rootbeer Recipe

Difficulty: 2 (1=easiest :: hardest=5)
Serves/Makes: 1 gallon
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dry yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
2 cups granulated sugar
5 teaspoons root beer extract
more lukewarm water
10 dried raisins
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water, let stand 5 minutes. Combine sugar and extract. Add the yeast to the sugar mixture. Pour into a gallon jug, then fill with lukewarm water, stopping about 1 inch from the top of the jug. Add the dried raisins for flavor. Cover the jug and set it in the sun for 3 hours.
Refrigerate overnight then drink the next day, (I think I would strain the raisins out before drinking).

This recipe for Homemade Rootbeer serves/makes 1 gallon

I don't know about root beer, but an easy way to make some sodas is to mix drink mixes with carbonated water instead of regular water.
