I have a hard time making ribs, they are always tough.
Answers:
As the first answer said cook them slow or simmer them first in a mixture of beer and water 50/50. after they're tender place them on the grill and sear them, close the lid on your grill to smoke them a little, then baste them with whatever sauce you like home made or bottled turning regularly as most sauces have sugar in them and will burn very quickly.I make my own sauce as follows.
1/2 cup catsup
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
about 2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp spicy Montreal steak seasoning
a dollop of mustard
about 2 oz of Jack Daniels.
allow it to simmer until the alcohol is cooked off.
Other Answers:
cook them long and slow. 160 degrees C
I alwyas boil mine in a big pot with lots of onions, cut up cloves of garlic, salt and pepper. Boil them them turn down to simmer for like 2 hours. Then barbeque them on the grill with SWEET BABY RAY'S barbeque sauce, It the the best sauce in the world. just try it. trust me they will be tender and oih so yummy. Yoiu have to start with good ribs though, some are just fatty and tough from the start good luck

I use a crock pot. That's fool proof and its ready when you're home from work.
2-3 lbs of pork, shoulder cut, boneless
BBQ sauce
Onion
Honey
Chicken broth
To make the onions more tender:
In a frying pan, add a cut up onion and sautee for 2-3 minutes.
In a large bowl, add the cut up pork ribs
1 bottle of BBQ sauce. 3 or 4 tsp on honey, and the onions.
Mix well.
Put mix in the crockpot, Add 1 can of chicken broth (or 1 c water if you don't have). Turn crockpot on med/low for 6-8 hours and it will fall apart when you eat it.
If you don't have a crock pot, get a large baking dish.
Do the same but be sure to add 1 cup more water, or add 1 c of water in addition to the broth. Cover dish with foil and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hour on low (320 degrees). Ribs should be cooked when you cut it open and there's no pink.
Rub them down with a good Memphis rub and wrap them in foil and cook them in a 220 degree oven for about two to three hours then put them on a hot grill without the foil and cook till crisp and brown.
