I am 5'6 feet tall and have been small most of my life but in these last 3 weeks I have been under a lot of strees and had lost about 30lds. I use to eat 3-2 times a day and now I only eat once a day and it's a small meal almost a kids meal. I don't like looking at myself in the mirror due to the weight that I have lost. I am in ur age and i have the same problem:) It is much harder to gain weight than losing weight. I went to a dietian and he told me to eat breakfast, smth in the middle before midday, lunch, smth in the afternoon and smth light for dinner. Try cheese, bread, milk, yogurt, veggies and fruit, eggs are good, and also u should take protein (thats so important for our muscles), we need to take protein. Fish and meat are good. If u r vegetarian perhaps soya is good..try small snacks like tuna salad with corn is good or some kind of an omelette, bread with honey and milk, some cereal with yogurt and fruit is also a good snack...what else let me think...maybe u should take multivitamins as i do and there r some other kind of multivitamins that they also contain protein...but im scared to take protein even if the dietian told me to do so...as im not excercing coz im too weak to do that at the moment..if u need any more info email me ..coz i can perfectly understand.

Luckily gaining weight is a lot easier than losing weight for most people. You just need to start eating again. Go back to eating 3 times a day, and you should gain the weight back pretty quickly. well a healthy way to gain weight is to eat lots or p/j sandwiches or peanut butter with honey sandwiches, but so it could be healthier make sure to only get the 100% grain bread. good luck! ;)
whenever I eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning I always gain weight. try it with brown sugar or sliced or dried fruit.
The best way to gain weight is to follow the "food pyramid" and eat about 2500 calories a day. You'll put the lbs back on but you wont get unhealthy doing it.work out and eat more....both will help you to gain your weight. I am in the same boat sorta speak so i know how you feel. You may want to consider finding a nutrition consultant in your area. Your doctor could probably give you the number for one who could give you the best advice. If you are only eating small meals you might try eating 6 small meals throughout the day. It seems like a lot but really it isn't. Just because you are trying to gain wieght back doen't mean you have to eat a lot of fatty foods that could cause you other health concerns later on. Drinking protien drinks will help. They sell some really great ones in health foods stores all over and if you have a gnc they could help you find one that would help you obtain your goal. Don't confused protien drinks with stuff like ensure that are made for skipping out on a meal, protien drinks are used a lot by people who work out to put on wieght not take it off. Hope this helps even a little but again your doc could probably give you better advice then what you will find on here. Good luck.
You sound exactly like me, after a stressful time (5'6" and about 105lbs). Everyone who mentioned eating small meals is right, but I have a question... How does it feel when you eat ???
