Yep, I boiled them, then was gonna let them set for 20 minutes before refrigerating, but got called away and forgot about them until the next day...think they'll be safe? or even edible?

Answers:
Yes, they are ok to eat.

In fact, that's the way Sephardic Jews make them. Observant jews can't cook on the sabbath, but they are allowed to eat. So, they have a bunch of recipes that slow cook overnight. They start cooking them before the sabbath starts at sundown, then they just take stuff and serve it during the sabbath.

Hey, I don't even try to understand those rules, I'm just pointing out that you can cook hardboiled eggs for 12 hours.
In Israel you get served eggs like that all the time.

BTW, when you hardboil an egg and you don't forget, the right amount to cook it is just enough. If you just hardboil, you'll have a nice white white and a nice yellow yolk. If you keep cooking it a few minutes longer, the outside of the yolk will turn green. (still edible, still tastes good, but doesn't look as nice, and does start to get dry dry.)

Other Answers:
Yes, they will be O.K.

A lot of people think hard boiled eggs must be refrigerated. When I was a kid we left the Easter eggs out for days. I don't recommend that but we all survived it.

yes its ok yes they should be fine

They're safe, and edible unless they're burnt. But they'll be rubbery. I don't know how you didn't burn your house down and I'm wondering how big your pot of water was.

Um....I would open one and smell it and see if it smells ok. i am freaky about that I wouldn't eat em though

She did say she had set them there for only 20 minutes before refridgerating so they weren't turned on !!!

Try and tell me (if u survive) NO, they are not ok. If you've ever had any food handlers training, you would know that they would only be ok if you refridgerated them promptly. I wouldn't eat them unless you want to risk getting sick.

you are luvky to have any eggs left or a pan or even a kitchen.

Honestly, as cheap as eggs are, I wouldnt risk it, why end up with a case of food poisening when you can go get more eggs and cook them for a buck???!!!!!!!!!

Those are golf balls man! my boyfriend is one for doing this, he usually eats them but he once let them boil to the point they exploded and egg was all over the ceiling

They should be fine, but if it is just a couple of eggs, dont take the chance and throw them away. if not, eat them, they are not poisonous, its for sure...

Eat em,Weasels can eat anything.lol

Yes, they will be fine. the boiling killed all the bacteria and being submurged would keep them germ free. Did you have a friend pop in every half hour to top up the water?

If is the last egg and you are hungry I think is "delicious"!

they r probably petrified now they will tasse like they hav gone off but ok to eat (the qustion is why did u keep toppin the water up)

If the shells are not cracked and the water has not dropped to the level where the cracks are exposed to the air (allowing the possibility of germs reaching the edible part of the egg), I would think it was safe. I have left boiled eggs out like that for a while (not as long as you did, but quite a while) and they were okay. I don't think I would risk it if the shells were cracked in the boiling, as they sometimes do. Those, you should eat right away. I'd rinse them off before I cracked the shells, just to be on the safe side. Yes, they should be just fine. Hard boiled eggs can be unrefrigerated for a day and still be just safe and edible.

You are very lucky you didn't burn your house down!!!
A few weeks ago I put rice on the stove, and left for just 2 hours and my whole house was filled with smoke! lucky you are.

I would not eat them. Buying eggs is a lot cheaper than a bout of food poisoning.
