Answers:
I got mine at Home Depot. I spent about your budget, and got one with a side burner. Ironically I never use the side burner. I think my brand is Char Broiler??

Its a small grill and has shelves. I think next time I want to get a bigger grill with a bigger cooking area. I just do steaks but some steaks take up a lot of room. If i had a party, my family would starve or only 1/2 would get piping hot food.

So find one with the biggest cooking area, and to me that's the best advise as all brands are good.

Ewww...who would want to cook their food with gas?? Charcoal is better it gives meat a smoky flavor

dude! get a weber. they are the best

http://www.weber.com For $200.00, I would check Walmart. They have some decent ones for the money, some with gas and charcoal option in the same unit. The really nice ones are $400.00 up to $1000.00. I would like to have one of those myself.

I would try the Fiesta line of grills. Although they aren't for the serious griller, everyone I know that owns one seems happy with theirs. I'm a Char-Broil type of gal myself, and their prices range from rather inexpensive to whatever you wish to pay. You can always go charcoal, but ugh! What a hassle! Keep your receipt when you make your purchase, that way you can return it if you aren't satisfied. I hope you find one that suits you...good luck!

Note: if you want a smoky flavor in your cooking, but a tinder box, you soak your wood chips in water and insert them into the box (usually made out of cast iron), then in the bottom of the grill, this will add moisture, and the wood chips can be bought in a variety of flavors. Liquid smoke for seasoning is always an option, but not recommended, as it has an artificial taste. Check out this sight it has two differant grills hope you like:

Portable with a good sized cooking surface and much less $$$. You can get 2 for a quarter the price of a full sized grill. I use mine all the time!
