Answers:
Start with the California Roll, then next time you go order the California Roll again and then try something new. That way, if you don't like the "something new" you can still enjoy the California Roll. I would recommend salmon, yellow tail, red tuna, white tuna, and ebi shrimp. They don't have the "fishy" taste.
It is also a good idea to mix a little bit of wasabi with the soy sauce (mix well) then dip the sushi in it before eating it. It is very tasty!!
Other Answers:
Sushi is raw fish. Some people love it. Some people hate it. You might start with a California roll which is seaweed, rice, carrots and avocado.
Then try fish you like. Some people like shrimp raw. Some like crab. Then get more adventurous.

california roll California roll or with fake crab meat
Definitely California roll, and also the salmon rolls, where there's only the fish in it... yum!
I guess california roll is safer or smoked salmon. I have no idea if you have egg rolls and cucamber rolls but if you have, that is good way to start. I am Japanese but not kneen on raw fish so much so i go for tuna mayonase roll. Just get a can of tuna and add some mayo. And roll with rice ... It is very goood!!!Well, for me it's definitely ikura(salmon roe) and smoked salmon sushi. Anyway, sushi with seasoned scallops is worth trying too. Try sushi rolls, most of them have very little raw fish. California, spicy tuna, and dynamite rolls are a few of my fav's!
