How about that hillbilly accent. I've known people from Georgia , they had accent's but NOTHING like Paula. I think she is exagerating the accent. Y'all know what i'm talkin bout? Um doggie's. Payn[ pan], lil [little], oll [oil] and so on and so on.

Answers:
No, not a phony.

Other Answers:
Sounds like a regular ol country girl to me

Eh - I LOVE her.
Also, her sons have a new show on the FoodNetwork and they have the same accent, so I doubt she's faking it - plus my history teacher came from Georgia and she talked just like that. It depends on where you're from exactly - I'm sure city people don't all talk like that but probably people in the country.

I like when she says "alliv oll" (olive oil)

I know she lives in Georgia but I'm not sure she is from there originally.

I also know the 2 things you don't see about her on TV is her bulldog determination and competetive drive.

Have you ever heard anyone from Mississippi talk, you could cut my accent with a knife when I lived there.
I believe she is just a country girl, that has made the best of the only thing she knows how to do and thats cook. Lets face it, us country girls do know how to cook.

Paula Deen isn't phony. I'm from the South as well, but don't necessarily say things the same way she does. Not all Southerners talk alike. Paul Deen ROCKS!
