Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Is it true that most American women can't cook (let alone men)? Why?),it will help you,my kids.
Answers:
I don't think that is true! What country are you in?!
Many women *choose not to cook* on weekdays (M-F) as much because they are working full time outside the home. Getting home at 6:00PM w/ 2 kids does not give you much time to cook a big meal, much less parent their kids.
I"m a SAHM and I cook every night, and weekends too. OFten breakfasts as well. But then I have more time to do it.
I think it all boils down to time.

I don't think it's a matter of they can't. It's just that American women are so busy nowadays that it's just much easier to grab something quickly. Same thing with men, too. It's such a go-go-go world that we live in that people rush things.
it's not true. men and women are all equal. some are just too lazy to try Hmmmmm.... Hasn't been my experience. How about you... I take it you are not American ... I suppose by your veiled braggadocio, you consider yourself the consummate chef.
Based on what I've seen, many American women consider a "recipe" to be something like "mix a package of this and a can of that". I'd say they can't! Why? Probably because packages and cans are easier...
It's true as many American women can't cook. One reason is their mothers learned to depend on boxed things during the 50s and 60s when that sort of thing really came widespread. Somehow the whole home cooking thing diminished whereas in the UK it stayed around a bit more. But another reason is that american women are much more independent and career minded than others. In the US by and large it seems that it's usually men who really know how to cook. Many choose to leave that task out of their life. With only 2 hours a day to call your own after work, why bother. Im sure they are fully capable of following recipe directions, especially when they are out saving the world in whatever capacity of work they do each day.
But on the other hand, while reading feng shei, you should cook something everyday in your home....even if it is a cup ot tea. Home should be where your heart is.
I think a lot of men & women in America can cook but being so busy with work and children and having the convenience of a McDonald's on every corner most people choose not to. I am now a stay at home mother but when I was working I wouldn't get home until 6:30pm and since the last time I ate was at 12:00pm I was starving so picking something up was a whole lot faster than trying to cook and not eating until 9:00. Now I enjoy cooking. I have tons of time to cook for my family and I even make dessert Wow this was kinda stereotypical don't you say? Just because you see celebrities on tv bragging they can't cook you assume all americans can't. Of course they don't they pay someone to do it for them. I am a stay at home mom and I choose to cook from scratch everyday. That is my choice because I love to cook just like for some it may be their choice to not cook. That's the freedom of it. Oh and my husband enjoys cooking as well.
the hubby and i are both american and we both cook. we rarely go out.
