Answers:
No. The process of hydrogenation turns an oil from liquid to solid, or partially solid/spreadable. This is an unhealthy oil. Snack foods, fast food, and any other food that is bad for you uses this oil. Olive oil is a healthy oil high in monounsaturated fat (the good fat)- mainly in the form of Oleic acid. Hope this helps!

Other Answers:
no, its good to cook with but if you heat olive oil up too much then it becomes hydrogenated....coconut oil is even better to cook with because it never becomes hydrogenated

No, it is not. think "solid at room temperature" when thinking "hydrogenated."

shortening is hydrogenated
margarine is hydrogenated

oils are NOT hydrogenated

Olive oil is not a trans fatty acid because it has not been partially hydrogenated in a factory to make it solid at room temperature like margarine has.

http://www.oliveoilsource.com/olivechemistry.htm "People ask if olive oil is hydrogenated -- the answer is "no." Hydrogenation produces a more stable product that is less likely to oxidize and changes a normally liquid oil to a semi-solid or solid fat, such as margarine or shortening."
