I Told my mother I would make her a peach cobbler tomarrow but I have no idea how to make a cobbler crust. Does anyone have one that is pretty quick

Answers:
For crust, get a box of Bisquik, follow the dumplings recipe on the side of the box (Bisquik & milk). For filling, use peaches canned in syrup. Pour peaches with the syrup into a pot bring to a boil. Add sugar, vanilla, a little bit of butter and nutmeg to suit your tastebuds.

Roll the dough out flat, use square pieces to add to the peaches while they boil. Once the dumplings are cooked (they become a tad bit transparent, not falling apart mushy). Pour the peaches and dumplings directly into your dish (pie pan, casserole dish, whatever - you can butter the dish if you want). Cut more dough into 1-inch wide strips long enough to fit the length of the pan. Criss-cross strips.

Bake in the oven on 350 degrees fahrenheit for about 20 minutes or until the strips are nice and golden crisp.

Amish Peach Cobbler
Ingredients :
1 cup flour
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbl butter softened
1 cup sugar
6 x peaches (to 8) peeled and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup boiling water
grated nutmeg

Method :
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt; set aside. In a large mixer bowl, cream the butter, add 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar, and blend well. Beat in the flour mixture. (Recipe can be prepared to this point up to a day ahead and refrigerated.)
Oil a 9 inch square baking pan (using a metal pan gives a better texture to this dessert) and place half the peaches on the bottom. Sprinkle half the flour mixture over the fruit. Add the rest of the peaches and then the rest of the flour mixture. In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and brown sugar; sprinkle over all. Put the almond extract in a 1-cup measure and fill with boiling water. Pour over the top of the cobbler, but do not mix. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg and bake for 1 hour. Serve warm.

1 1/2 cans of sliced peaches
cinnamon-just a little
sugar
butter
nutmeg (pinch)

This is one easy peach cobbler that can be made with a store-bought crust and canned peaches.
Preheat oven to 350. Move the bottom crust into an 8 in square pan, pinch and shape into place. Put in peaches and juice from 1 can (more if you like), add pats of butter, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and just a pinch of nutmeg.

Top with a prepared purchased top crust, pinch and shape over bottom crust to seal. Cut slits and sprinkle lightly with sugar if desired.

Put in 350 oven and bake until brown and bubbly top and bottom.

make it all the time!~ Easy peach cobbler
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch salt
1 cup milk
4 cups peeled, pitted and thinly sliced fresh peaches (5 to 6 medium peaches)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Several dashes ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Pour the melted butter into a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, the baking powder, and the salt and mix well. Stir in the milk, mixing until just combined. Pour this batter over the butter but do not stir them together.

In a small saucepan, combine the peaches, lemon juice, and remaining cup of sugar and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour the peaches over the batter but do not stir them together. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden-brown. Serve warm or cold.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_15547,00.html This is the easiest and best cobbler I've ever made. It's turned out every time I've made it and it's been a big hit at every event/dinner I've taken it to.

4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
2 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup water
8 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Put the butter in a deep baking dish and place in oven to melt.

Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

**VERY IMPORTANT** You must use self-rising flour or the recipe won't turn out. If you don't have self-rising flour, you can make your own as follows:

1. In a large mixing bowl, measure 6 cups of flour.
2. Add 3 tablespoons baking powder.
3. Add 1 tablespoon salt.
4. Either sift together or mix with a wire whisk until well combined.
5. Can be stored in airtight container for months.

I have made this recipe with store bought self-rising flour and homemade self-rising flour. It turns out the same either way.
