how to make the sauce
1 litre soy sauce
1/2 litre mirin or japanese cooking wine
500 grams sugar
boil the soysauce with sugar and mirin
keep stirring or the sugar will burnt
you can add whole garlic cloves for extra flavour
slowly boil till the sauce thicken
take note that it will thicken further when cooled
in its cooled state the teriyaki sauce should be thick but runny. adjust sugar level to your preference
add to any grilled chicken or beef to make yummy teriyaki dishes
