pampered chef I'm a big fan of pizza stones - however they can be pricey. I set up an oven for pizza production at a job once for $20 and could cook 4 - 16 inch pizzas at one time.
I went to Home Depot and they had red brick floor tiles (completely untreated with any chemicals or hazzards!) on sale for 5 dollars a box. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE UNTREATED TILES WITH NO GLAZING OR CHEMICALS! I laid them on the oven racks (I had 4 in this oven) and cranked up my oven to 500 degress and cured the tiles for 1 hour. After letting them cool, i rinsed and scrubbed with water, and I've been using them for pizza parties and catering for 4 years now.
An awesome $20 investment.
