Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(for RIBS, can i add a rub and than put sauce on when almost done grilling or doe),it will help you,my kids.
Answers:
Sounds yummy. Don't forget to simmer the ribs covered in water 25 minutes before you grill them so they will be tender. They will look ugly gray but, that all changes when you grill them. Put the rub on after you simmer them. Then like you say, the sauce when you have them about ready. MMMMM! What time's dinner?
Other Answers:
brush them lightly with sauce while cooking but have spray bottle of water nearby so the flames dont jump higher and burn them.
You can also put the sauce on when almost finished cooking,I cook mine by putting sauce on about every 10 min until nice n yummy lookin but keep a close eye on them and make sure they dont burn
